Neural scientists have discovered that, when a man feels confident, his brain will secrete some kinds of hormones that boost brain activity and improve the efficiency of his immune system. In contrast, a melancholic brain is suppressed by other chemicals and cannot fully exhibit its potential.
To help build up self-confidence, you can take the following two steps. First, identify your merits and value them. If you constantly compare your weaknesses to others' advantages, you'd only gain frustration rather than confidence. Second, track every little progress you've made and review them frequently. You may not possibly become perfectly successful in one day, but if only you can see yourself growing gradually, surely you're on the right way. There's really so other methods making you more confident that depend on yourself to find out, and they're all necessary elements to make you more competitive in your area.

As we know, most of the middle school students today have the same dream, to go to college. To be a college student not only means that you can get further education but also means a great success.
However, the question is, whether going to a college is the only way to success. My answer is "No". I disagree to the opinion for the following reasons.
First of all, getting into a university does not necessarily mean that you have won everything. A famous English saying goes, "One can never be too old to learn". You still need to study very hard to get the bachelor, master or even doctor degree to achieve greater success.
Secondly, besides colleges or universities, you still have lots of ways to achieve success. In history, a number of famous scientists and scholars, who did not manage to get into colleges, still made great contributions to human beings. Why was that? Because they had the determination which led them to the success.
Thirdly, I think the most important thing for today's society is not a diploma but the personal ability. Nowadays, we are all facing the challenge of the market economy, so what is essential to-day is not how high education you received but how soon you can deal with the difficult issues that fall into kinds.
Ladies and gentlemen, all roads lead to Rome. Let us drop the old concept about the college diploma and embrace an even brighter future. Thank you.

Spring Festival is approaching, which makes me feel incredibly joyful. During this winter break, my parents and I traveled to visit my grandparents’ home. My grandma was extremely enthusiastic about our arrival, and the dinner she prepared was absolutely delicious. After the meal, everyone gave me red envelopes containing money, which made me over the moon. I truly enjoyed spending this time with my grandparents and relatives.
Occasionally, we went mountain climbing. The peak was quite towering. Look! A pristine river flows nearby. You can also spot some pretty flowers, green grass, and large trees. Some of these are orange trees, while others are banana trees. Although I felt quite exhausted, the experience was really fascinating.

There were all kinds of things. Everyday a lot of people got there to buy things. It opens at eight in the morning and closes at nine at night. Now, I was helping my mother buy things. I had a shopping list in my hand. We were looking for things on the shopping list. After staying in the shopping center for about two hours, we got all the things and walked home.
