It was a sunny day. We decided to have a picnic outside the city. In the morning, we took an early bus to Nanhui. It was quite a colorful world. There were green trees, orange leaves, red peach blossoms. At noon, we arrived at the place, we sat by the river bank and took out a lot of things, such as bread, orange juice, apples, cakes, eggs and so on. But all of a sudden, it began to rain. Unluckily there was no shelter nearby. We had to take a bus to go back home in a hurry.
What an unfortunate picnic it was!

My memory of the zoo’s opening day remains clear. Back then, I was just five, and Mom brought me along. Seeing so many live animals together made me incredibly happy.
They looked so cute and lively. However, the cold weather didn’t keep me from feeling sad later. On the ride back, pity started to well up inside me. Separated from their families and far from the wild, they must have felt very lonely, I reasoned.
All they could do each day was just sit there, hoping for someone to bring them food.

It was Sunday. Our teacher, Mr. Zhu, took us to a park close by. Normally, we visit this park to enjoy our free time. However, today’s purpose was different; we went there to join in some volunteer work.
We arrived at nine in the morning. Mr. Zhu split us into three teams, and then we started our tasks.
The students in the first group planted trees and watered the flowers. Meanwhile, those in the second group were busy picking up trash left by visitors. They also wiped down the park benches. I belonged to the third group. We headed to the children’s playground and cleaned all the play equipment. We put in a lot of effort.
Around eleven o’clock, we completed our work. We gathered at the park entrance. Although we were exhausted, we felt extremely happy.

One day, Mom said to me, "I love you, son." I was very happy that day and went to school. At 6 o'clock in the afternoon, I went back home. Dad was also back and there was a big cake on the table.
I asked him, "Why is there a cake? Can I eat it?"
Dad answered, "No. Mom should eat first."
"Why?" I asked again.
"Because it's your mom's birthday," then I remembered Mom said, "I love you" to me in the morning. It was Mom's birthday, but I didn't know that. And she said, "I love you" to me.

Day after day, people are busy with their work and study. It seems to us that every day is commonplace. However, I will never forget one day which really is embedded in my mind ever after.
A lovely spring day, I had finished a whole day's study, riding back home. Suddenly, I found I couldn't ride easily and felt exceedingly tired at that time. So, I got off and took a look at my bike. It was something wrong with my bicycle's tyre; it had been punctured by a small nail. What was worse, I was frustrated by that there was no money in my pocket for I couldn't repair it.
Walking along the street, I was extremely excited because a man on the road side was fixing the bike. But, I was bewildered as soon as I thought of no money. Surprisingly, he found me and asked me to come to him. I said to him, "I'm sorry that I have no money to repair the bike." "It doesn't matter!" he replied bluntly. After a few minutes, my bike was repaired well by him without pay.
